Default is King – breaking console and editor habits

My Half-Year's resolution:
Every day, delete one line from either my .vimrc or .zshrc files.

 Today: undofile config, out!

" Preserve undo between sessions
set undofile
set undodir=~/.vim/undodir

 Defaults are everywhere, let's take advantage of that.

    what is the motivation for removing productive customizations?

    Being able to be productive on any system, without the need for customizing it beforehand.
